I am Maria Buccilli, a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with over 20 years of experience in diverse settings, including schools, colleges, and mental health agencies. My journey in the field of mental health has been both fulfilling and enlightening, as I have had the privilege of supporting individuals at various stages of their lives.
Throughout my career, I have developed a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by adolescents, young adults, adults, couples, and families. My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), a method that emphasizes the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I find great satisfaction in helping my clients identify and modify negative thought patterns, which allows them to achieve their personal goals and improve their overall well-being.
My areas of specialization include anxiety, depression, life transitions, ADHD, and goal setting. I recognize that these issues can profoundly impact various aspects of life, from academic performance to personal relationships. By creating a safe and supportive environment, I encourage my clients to explore their feelings, confront their fears, and develop effective coping strategies.
I am also passionate about supporting individuals navigating significant life changes, whether that involves transitioning to college, starting a new job, or coping with loss or change in family dynamics. I encourage my clients to view these transitions as opportunities for growth and self-discovery.
As a counselor, my philosophy centers on the belief that everyone has the potential for change and growth. I am dedicated to providing compassionate care and evidence-based strategies that empower my clients to overcome obstacles and reach their full potential.
In addition to my counseling practice, I engage in continuous professional development to stay abreast of the latest research and techniques in the field of mental health. My commitment to lifelong learning ensures that I can offer the best possible support to those I work with.
I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of my clients’ journeys and am committed to walking alongside them as they navigate their unique paths toward healing and fulfillment.
